  • AAG Fund Raising

    Friday, September 27, 2019 49 days ago

In September, we presented our second donation this year to our two chosen charities, Princess Alice Hospice and The Garwood Foundation.

So far in 2019, we have donated a total of £1,888.38 to each charity and with our fund raising continuing, we hope to double this amount by year end.

Many thanks to all our employees who continue to support these two very worthy local causes.

Lee Bennett, Director of Services for The Garfield Foundation: “The Garwood Foundation could not provide its activities without the kind the support of the local community. I personally would like to thank all at AMETEK for their contributions as well as the organisation that went into the fundraising activities. All the money raised will be split between our children with profound learning disabilities at The Rutherford School and our adults with complex disabilities at our Bramley Hill Day Centre.”

  • Minister visit to AMETEK Airtechnology May 2019

    Friday, May 10, 2019 189 days ago

Kwasi Kwarteng, Member of Parliament for Spelthorne, visited AMETEK Airtechnology during May.

Mr Kwarteng toured one of the Company’s facilities in Sunbury, meeting the teams who are contributing to aircraft programmes, such as the Airbus A350 and the Joint Strike Fighter F-35 Lightning II, as well as a number of export defence programmes.

Mr Kwarteng said: “I was fascinated to see how a Sunbury-based firm is competing internationally and is developing and sustaining world-class capability and skills. I am also looking forward to working with AMETEK Airtechnology to help encourage more interest at the grass roots level within the local community.”

The Company has now been invited by Mr Kwarteng to exhibit in the Spelthorne Skills & Careers Fair 2019 in September where leading employers and skills providers meet with more than 500 local job seekers and students.

As a high technology aerospace and defence company, it is important that, as we continue to grow, we are able to develop and attract people into high skill manufacturing environments such as ours. An enabler of this is to work closely with the Government and local Constituency to help stimulate that attraction and develop the talent.

It was a great honour to receive this award, on behalf of the AMETEK Airtechnology team, from St Christopher’s Hospice in April; a big thank you to Leo Thon and the St Christopher’s team who do a phenomenal job each and every day.
We all have the ability and responsibility to help those less fortunate than ourselves and the team at Airtech are hugely proud of the recognition that was received.
Since 2016, our team has raised and donated over £30K to seven charities that are local to our UK facilities. Each year, our employees nominate a local charity that they wish to support and each year the creativity, time and energy to raise funds increases which results in higher donations every time. Our passion for 2019 …….. to make it another record breaking year for those in need.

Leo Thon, Corporate Fund Raiser for St Christopher’s Hospice “Congratulations to our Corporate Champions 2018 AMETEK Airtechnology Group!
