Minister visit to AMETEK Airtechnology

AMETEK Airtechnology - Kwasi Kwarteng, Member of Parliament for Spelthorne, visited AMETEK Airtechnology during May 2019.

Mr Kwarteng toured one of the Company’s facilities in Sunbury, meeting the teams who are contributing to aircraft programmes, such as the Airbus A350 and the Joint Strike Fighter F-35 Lightning II, as well as a number of export defence programmes.

Mr Kwarteng said: “I was fascinated to see how a Sunbury-based firm is competing internationally and is developing and sustaining world-class capability and skills. I am also looking forward to working with AMETEK Airtechnology to help encourage more interest at the grass roots level within the local community.”

The Company has now been invited by Mr Kwarteng to exhibit in the Spelthorne Skills & Careers Fair 2019 in September where leading employers and skills providers meet with more than 500 local job seekers and students.

As a high technology aerospace and defence company, it is important that, as we continue to grow, we are able to develop and attract people into high skill manufacturing environments such as ours. An enabler of this is to work closely with the Government and local Constituency to help stimulate that attraction and develop the talent.
